Untitled"...but there was something about that anger. I resented myself for it at the time, but when I began healing, that anger really became like a dear friend to me. It was the part of me that knew I was being mistreated- that knew that something was wrong. My anger saw and felt what I had been going through every day and it didn't learn to keep it down like I did. And in that way, anger was the first real step I took toward healing. It told me, 'no, this isn't right. You deserve to be outraged. You deserve better than this, and you deserve to fight for better. And I really needed that."
